We'll begin to upgrade our gas network in various areas of Elgin on Tuesday 6 April.
Our safety-critical project to upgrade the gas network in Elgin needs to go ahead now, rather than wait until the covid-19 pandemic passes, to ensure your local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance.
To minimise disruption as much as possible, we'll carry out our work in five phases. This page will be updated as we reach each stage of our project.
Phase one - four weeks:
On Tuesday 6 April we'll begin work in Pluscarden Road. During this four-week period of our project, the exit to Dr Gray’s Hospital will be closed and West Road will become the entrance and exit road to the hospital. There will be one-way traffic eastbound in Pluscarden Road between the roundabout at West Road and the roundabout at Wittet Drive. Motorists travelling westbound will be diverted via the A96.
From 12 April, Haugh Road will be closed between the Moray Leisure Centre and BoroughBriggs Road roundabout. Three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place at the roundabout to allow continued traffic flow.
We'll also be working in King Street but traffic will be able to travel in both directions.
