This week we’re launching our annual campaign to help all our customers prepare for winter. Our tips and advice will help you prepare for the season ahead, while over the next four months, we’ll be sharing winter wellness guidance on our social media channels.

Our dedicated engineers have just completed their winter awareness training, which helps them provide additional support to those who need it the most.

In addition, my teams are very well placed in assisting customers with accessing the Priority Services Register, a free support service that makes sure extra help is available to those in vulnerable situations. We also make sure we’re signposting those who could benefit to services designed to help them out of fuel crisis.

We know winter can be a difficult time for some of our customers, especially those who need extra support. The cost of living crisis continues to threaten so many people when it comes to paying for energy, fuel and food.

We recognise the difficulties and strains this puts people under and keeping the most vulnerable customers across our regions safe and warm is an undoubted priority.

Supporting vulnerable households

Therefore, this winter our extensive partnership network will help us deliver a comprehensive range of programmes to support vulnerable households up and down the country.

We’re extremely proud of the programmes we’ve created and grateful to the expert partners who support us in going above and beyond.

Finally, this year we’re pleased to be helping customers change their home energy use habits to save money and lessen their impact on the environment through our new energy efficiency tool.

Developed in support with Energy Saving Trust, the tool provides users with a personalised plan to use energy more efficiently at home. By answering a few questions about your property, you could save an average of £110 a year on your energy bill.

We’ve also got additional advice on how you can safely reduce energy costs in your home during this challenging economic climate, with practical ways your household could lower the cost of gas and electricity.
