We're preparing to carry out essential network upgrades in the B230 South Eden Park Road area to ensure nearby homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our engineers will be replacing our old metal mains with new plastic pipe from Monday 3 November. This work is being carried out in phases and we're expecting to complete it by January 2026.
To ensure everyone's safety around our site, we will need to implement some temporary traffic measures as indicated below.
- Westfield Road will be closed near to its junction with Hayne Road, from Monday 3 November for approximately four weeks.
- Give and take will be in operation along Kingston Crescent near to its junction with Hayne Road, from Monday 3 November for approximately three weeks.
- Temporary traffic lights will be in place along South Eden Park Road near Elderslie Close, from Monday 10 November for approximately two weeks.
- Blakeney Road will be closed between Broadwater Cottage and Rectory Road, from Monday 10 November for approximately five weeks.
- Our project will be suspended over the festive period and engineers will return in the new year. Hayne Road will be closed between Cedars Road and Beckenham Road, from Monday 5 January for approximately three weeks.
Access will be maintained to properties located within closure areas. All other motorists should follow the signed diversion route.
We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of approximately 80 years. This means once our work is done, Beckenham residents and businesses will be able to enjoy a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
