We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Swanbridge Road area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Bexleyheath homes and businesses.

What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in the Swanbridge Road area. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work will start on Monday 5 January and be carried out in phases to help minimise disruption. This project is expected to finish in mid-March.
Where we'll be working
To ensure everyone's safety while we upgrade our network, we need to close the following roads around our sites:
- Wenvoe Avenue (from Mon 5 Jan for approx. six weeks)
- Lavernock Road (from Mon 19 Jan for approx. six weeks)
- St Audrey Avenue (from Mon 2 Feb for approx. four weeks)
- Francis Avenue (from Mon 9 Feb for approx. five weeks)
Access to homes and businesses located within the closure areas will be maintained. Signed diversions will be in place for through traffic.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, this work is essential to ensuring nearby properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
