Update - Thursday 15 May

We apologise for the recent disruption caused by our temporary traffic lights in place for safety around our work area.

We've arranged for these lights to be marshalled between 7am and 7pm each day, to help reduce congestion.

Thanks to road users and nearby residents for your patience while we carry out these essential network upgrades.

We're preparing to carry out essential gas network upgrades in the Peckham Rye area.

This work will ensure properties across south London continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. It's part of a 30-year programme to replace our old metal mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new plastic pipe.

Our work will start on Tuesday 6 May and last approximately 16 weeks. It's been split into three phases to help minimise disruption in the area.

Details of the roads affected, and the traffic management in place for everyone's safety, can be found in the phase information and map below.

We recognise roadworks can be frustrating, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this essential work may cause. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years, which means when the work is complete, nearby residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply long into the future.
