Citizens Advice England and Wales
Why we’re working together
Citizens Advice provides free and independent advice to millions of people in England and Wales each year, over the phone and in person. Through its Energy Advice Programme, the charity helps vulnerable people access expert energy advice, get better energy deals and improve their household income.
Building on the success of our previous joint-GDN programme, we’re proudly leading an energy safeguarding programme with Northern Gas Networks and Wales & West Utilities that provides meaningful, practical and trusted support to households in energy crisis.
Through a network of Energy Advice Partnership Hubs across our three operating areas, skilled Citizens Advice advisors are delivering energy advice and safeguarding support for households in energy crisis.
What we’re achieving together
- Establishing new regional energy advice hubs across England and Wales for communities with the greatest need
- Upskilling Citizens Advice teams to provide personalised energy advice and safeguarding support for vulnerable households
- Maximising household incomes through income and benefits checks
- Helping households to join the Priority Services Register
- Raising awareness of carbon monoxide safety
- Connecting households to wider Citizens Advice services for holistic support
