Before you apply

Before you apply, there are a few things to think about.

Site plan

If your property is a new build or conversion, we need a site plan to work out where the pipe needs to go. You can upload one during the application process.

Permission

The land that we need to access must be owned by you, or you’ll need written permission from the landowner for the work.
If you need planning permission, or a local authority permit, please make sure these are in place.

Your quote

Apply online to get a quote for a new gas connection to any single domestic property.

If your work is a standard connection, we’ll email your quote immediately.

If you don’t receive a quote, it could be because the information you provided doesn’t allow us to create an instant quote. Our specialist team will review your application and send a quote as quickly as possible. They’ll let you know if we need anything else.

This could apply if:

  • You need more than 23 meters of pipe
  • You live in a flat on the second floor or above
  • You have a heated swimming pool
  • You have 5 bedrooms or more

Multiple properties

If your application is for business premises, multiple properties or one property which needs multiple connections, please use our commercial application form.

Current leadtimes

Please note that we are experiencing a higher than usual demand on our teams this winter. Depending on where you live, the leadtimes for connections work could be up to 21 weeks.

You can use our quick estimate tool above to check accurate local leadtimes and costs.

Our dedicated Account Managers will discuss dates for your work once you have accepted and paid for your quote.

How it works

Once you’ve applied, our dedicated Connections team will guide you through getting connected.

We’ll do all we can to make the job easy for you and your neighbours. We may need to close the pavement or road outside your house, but we’ll discuss that with you before we start our work.

No. Anything that we dig up to install your new gas connection will be tidied up within 5 working days of the job by our specialist reinstatement team. That includes holes in the road or pavement.

Most jobs can be completed within one day. If yours has special requirements and could take longer, we’ll let you know well in advance and discuss it with you.

We’ll discuss possible dates with you and do whatever we can to plan the job for a date that suits you.
