Aberdeen, Six Roads Roundabout

We're carrying out essential upgrades to our gas network around Six Roads Roundabout in Aberdeen. This work has been planned in close consultation with Aberdeen City Council and will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to nearby homes and businesses.

Working to keep you safe and warm

What we're doing

Our engineering team is replacing old metallic mains with modern plastic pipe which has a lifespan of 80 years.

When we'll be working

Our project will start on Tuesday 18 November and will last for approximately five weeks.

Where we'll be working

From 8am on 18 November 2025 until 7pm on the 19 December there will be road closures at the Six Roads roundabout, with footway closures also in place; local diversion routes and a signed diversion will be in place to direct both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Restrictions will be implemented in a phased manner to minimise disruption to road users and pedestrians.

Phase 1

From Tuesday 18 November, there will be a lane closure in Rosehill Drive at Six Roads Roundabout. Ash-Hill Place will also be closed with associated footpath closures around these streets. At the same time, there will be a single lane closure on Cairncry Road. This phase will last approximately one week.

Phase 2

Our lane closure in Cairncry Road will move to the opposite side of the road with footpath closures also in place. Westburn Drive will also be reduced down to one lane at the roundabout with traffic flow maintained via alternating lane management. This phase will last approximately two weeks.

Phase 3

In phase three we'll close the opposite lane in Westburn Drive with associated footpath closures in place. This final phase will last approximately two weeks.

We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating for residents, businesses and road users. We'll be doing everything we can to minimise disruption while we complete this essential work to keep nearby properties safe and warm.
