Update - Friday 4 July

We're about to start the third and final phase of our project in Willesborough. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.

From Monday 7 July, A292 Hythe Road will be closed from the junctions of Church Road to the junction with Lees Road (leading to Silver Hill Road) for everyone's safety. Church Road and Lees Road will also be closed at their junctions with Hythe Road for the duration of this work.

Signed diversion routes will be in place for affected motorists. Pedestrian and cycle access will not be affected.

We expect our work to take around four to five weeks to complete. Once our work has been completed, UK Power Networks will continue working within the road closure to complete their work. All work will be completed and the road re-opened before the end of the school summer holidays.

Bus routes are affected – please click here for information on changes to service routes and bus stop suspensions.

We understand this closure will be disruptive for residents and road users and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our engineers will be working hard to complete this work as quickly and safely as possible.

Thank you for your patience and consideration while we upgrade our network, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas can continue to be supplied to the Willesborough area.
