Project update: Sunday 14 September
Following feedback from some of our customers, we have worked with our contractor I&G and Wokingham Highways to put in place a local access route to help alleviate issues brought to our attention.
We have rearranged our road closure to allow residents and local businesses in the area to travel left towards Sindlesham/Winnersh without the need to use the diversion in place. This will be the same for your return journey.
The new route came into effect yesterday. We will have marshalls in place to ensure road users utilising this access are local to the area and monitor the impact for residents/businesses.
We are unable to provide access via Arborfield, and the diversion route must be followed. We have not made any changes to the diversion route.
We are aware there are other utility companies also working in the area, which is causing further frustration however please be assured we will keep our website updated with the latest information.

Project overview
Our contractors, I&G Contractors Limited, are shortly starting work to upgrade the gas network in Sindlesham. The work, which will be ongoing for approximately 16 weeks, involves replacing old, metal pipes with new longer lasting plastic ones to ensure local homes and businesses continue to receive a reliable gas supply.
Work will start Mayfields, St Catherine's Close and St Marys Road, and will then shortly move into Bearwood Road and Mole Road.
Due to the location of the gas pipes in the roads, and for everyone’s safety, road closures and signed diversions will be in place.
We appreciate how disruptive road closures are for residents and road users. Our engineers are committed to doing everything they can to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible.
If you have any specific questions regarding these works, please email customer@sgn.co.uk.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience this work will cause, and thank local people for their patience and understanding.
