From Monday 24 February for six weeks, our contractors will be carrying out gas main replacement work on the High Street in Bognor Regis.
These essential works involve the replacement of old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes to ensure we can provide residents and the wider community with a safe and efficient gas supply and to avoid further disruptive gas escapes on this main in the future.
Our engineers will be working on the High Street between the roundabout with the B2259 and the roundabout with the High Street and Gloucester Road. Due to the location of the gas main in the road, we will need to temporarily close the road between these two junctions for the duration of the work.
This closure will mean there is no through access for vehicles between the two roundabouts – our map below shows the exact location.
Vehicle access to Butlins Wave Hotel Road will be maintained via the southern end of the closure (the High Street/Gloucester Road roundabout).
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.
We appreciate how disruptive these works may be for the local community and those visiting Butlins. Our engineers will be working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete the work without delay.
