Coulsdon, Marlpit Lane

We're preparing to carry out essential network upgrades along Marlpit Lane to ensure nearby homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.

Our engineers will be replacing our old metal mains with new plastic pipe from Monday 26 May. This work is expected to last approximately 11 weeks.

To ensure everyone's safety, we need to install temporary traffic lights along Marlpit Lane around our work area. These lights will ensure traffic flow can be maintained safely pass our site and excavations in the carriageway. They will be in operation for the duration of our work.

During our work, we recommend you please do the following:

  • Please advise visitors and delivery drivers of the temporary lights
  • Please allow additional times for your journeys
  • Please check with your local service provider for any updates to bus services, schedules or stops

We understand roadworks can be frustrating for road users, residents and businesses. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means that once the work is complete, the Couldson community will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
