From 25 August, SGN contractors, I&G Contractors Limited, will commence a programme of work to replace the gas mains in Park Lane, Finchampstead. Barring any engineering difficulties, the work is expected to continue for 11 weeks.
These essential works will involve replacing an old, metal pipe with a new longer longer-lasting plastic one so that we can continue to provide businesses and the wider community with a safe and efficient gas supply.
Due to the location of the gas pipes in the roads, and for everyone’s safety, Park Lane will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, and a signed diversion will be in place via Reading Road - Eversley Road - Nine Mile Ride Extension - Park Lane. During this period, we will also be working on The Devil’s Highway and will ask road users to ‘give and take’ past our work site.
