We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Vanbrugh Park area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Greenwich homes and businesses.
Working to keep you safe and warm
What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in the Vanbrugh Park area. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work will start on Monday 5 January and be carried out in phases to help minimise disruption. This project is expected to finish in late February.
Where we'll be working
To ensure everyone's safety while we upgrade our network, we need to install temporary traffic lights around our sites when working in the following roads.
- Charlton Park Road (from Mon 5 Jan for approx. six weeks)
- Charlton Lane (from Mon 12 Jan for approx. two weeks)
- Charlton Road (from Mon 9 Feb for approx. three weeks)
- Vanbrugh Hill (from Mon 16 Feb for approx. two weeks)
Fairfield Grove will also need to be closed to motorists at its junction with Charlton Park Road. This will be shut from Monday 5 January for around three weeks. Signed diversions will be in place for affected road users.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, this work is essential to ensuring nearby properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
