Knightswood, Glasgow

We're carrying out essential upgrades to our gas network in Knightswood, Glasgow. This work has been planned in close consultation with Glasgow City Council and will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to nearby homes and businesses.

What we're doing

Our engineering team is replacing old metallic mains with modern plastic pipe which has a lifespan of 80 years.

When we'll be working

Our project started in 17 March 2025 and will last for approximately 11 months.

Where we'll be working

We’ll be working in the streets marked out in the maps below. The first map highlights streets in the area around Kinghtswood Road and the second map highlights the area around Lochlibo Road.

Our work has been planned in four phases to minimise inconvenience and disruption as much as possible. You can find out when and where we'll be working for each phase below.

Phase one

Between 17 March 2025 to 23 May 2025 we'll be working in the following streets:

  • Fulwood Place
  • Great Western Road (section one)

Phase two

Between 23 May 2025 to 1 August 2025 we'll be working in the following streets:

  • Halley Place
  • Hawick Street
  • Kelso Street

Phase three

Between 1 August 2025 to 10 October 2025 we'll be working in the following streets:

  • Cowdenhill Road
  • Friarscourt Avenue
  • Fulwood Avenue
  • Great Western Road (next to St Margaret's Parish Church)
  • Kelso Street
  • Kinconnel Avenue

  • Moorhouse Avenue

Please note we'll be working in some of the same streets as in phase two in order to ensure most work outside St Brendan's Primary School takes place during school holiday periods.

Phase four

Between 10 October 2025 to 16 December 2025 we'll be working in the following streets:

  • Alderman Road
  • Hawick Street
  • Kelso Street
  • Dornal Avenue
  • Dyke Road (section)
  • Glen Crescent

Work in the following streets is part of the same phase but is likely to last longer until 16 February 2026:

  • Blairdardie Road
