24 December
We’ll be working in the Rushey Green area of Lewisham in the New Year to upgrade the gas network. This work will replace older metallic pipes with more durable plastic ones, providing local homes and businesses with a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
We’ll start work on Monday, 05 January, and continue until the end of March.
To do this work safely, we will work in phases that include road and bus lane closures:
- George Lane to Davenport Road – 5 January for approximately three weeks.
We will close George Lane at the junction with Rushey Green.
- Davenport Road to Rosenthal Road – 19 January for approximately three weeks
We will close Davenport Road at the junction with Rushey Green.
- Rosenthal Road to Honely Road – 2 February for approximately three weeks
Honely Road will be closed at the junction with Rushey Green for the duration of the project. This area will be used for storage and welfare facilities during our mains replacement works. A temporary diversion will be in place during this time.
- Honely Road to Brownhill Road – 16 February for approximately three weeks
We will close Ringstead Road at the junction with Rushey Green.
- Brownhill Road to outside the civic offices – 2 March for approximately four weeks
This section of road will be closed to all traffic during this time.
We know that roadworks like this can be frustrating, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this essential work might cause. We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum while we get the job done.
