We're preparing to carry out essential network upgrades in the Waterloo Road area of Lambeth in London to ensure nearby homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our engineers will be replacing our old metal mains with new plastic pipe from Monday 19 January. This work is expected to last approximately four weeks.
To ensure everyone's safety, we will need to close a section of Waterloo Road around our site.
- Waterloo Road will be closed to southbound motorists between The Cut and Exton Street
- A signed diversion will be in place for affected road users
Access will be maintained to properties located within the closure area. All other motorists should follow the signed diversion route.
We'll be holding a virtual drop-in session to answer any questions you have about this work on Thursday 8 January. Details of how to join this session will be published here soon.
We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of approximately 80 years. This means once our work is done, residents and businesses will be able to enjoy a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
