Maidstone, Sandling Lane

We're preparing to carry out essential gas network upgrades in the Sandling Road area of Maidstone.

This work involves replacing our old metal mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby properties.

Our project will begin on Monday 17 February and we estimate it will take 28 weeks to complete.

To ensure everyone's safety, we'll need to close the following roads around our work area. These will be rolling closures that move along the road as our engineers progress.

  • Sandling Lane - Monday 24 February to Monday 12 May
We'll be working between 132 Sandling Lane and its junction with Boxley Road.
  • Boxley Road - Monday 31 March to Sunday 20 April
We'll be working between its junctions with Sandling Lane and Neville Close.
  • Boxley Road - Tuesday 22 April to Sunday 20 July
We'll be working between its junctions with Penenden Heath Road and Rock Road.
  • Penenden Heath Road - Monday 21 July to Monday 1 September
We'll be working between its junctions with Boxley Road and Sittingbourne Road.

We'll also need to temporarily close side roads where they meet the above roads as we progress past these junctions.

Signed diversions will be in place for affected motorists during our work. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses.

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means once our work here is complete, Maidstone residents can enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
