From Monday 7 September, SGN's contractor, I&G Contractors Limited, will begin essential work to replace a section of medium-pressure gas main on Main Road in Marchwood/Dibden.
The project is expected to last approximately ten weeks.
These works are necessary to replace ageing infrastructure and help ensure we can continue to
provide a safe, reliable, and efficient gas supply to local homes and businesses, while reducing the risk of future gas leaks.
Our engineers will be replacing the existing metal gas main with a modern plastic pipe on Main Road, Between Church Cottages and South Lodge.
Due to the location of the gas main within the road and its proximity to a high-pressure gas network, a full road closure will be required throughout the works for everyone's safety.
- No through vehicle access will be possible in either direction past the road closure
- Vehicle access for residents within the closure area will be maintained. Our site team and signage will provide information about access arrangements.
- Pedestrian and cycle access through the works area will be maintained
- Bin collection services will remain unchanged unless otherwise advised by your service provider
- Bus services will be affected - please contact your operator for diversions and timetable changes
We understand how disruptive road closures can be for the community and we assure you our engineers will be doing everything they can to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible.
