We're preparing to carry out essential gas network upgrades in the Minster Road area.
This work will ensure properties across the Isle of Sheppey continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. It's part of a 30-year programme to replace our old metal mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new plastic pipe.
Our engineers will be upgrading approximately 2km of our gas main and 680 individual supply pipes to adjacent properties.
This project will start on Wednesday 23 July and is expected to finish by Friday 31 October.
We've split this project into three phases to help minimise disruption. Minster Road will be closed to motorists around our work area for everyone's safety for the duration of our work. We will also need to close several side roads when we reach their respective junctions with Minister Road. Details of the roads affected in each phase can be found below.
Our work schedule

Starting Wed 23 Jul
We'll be working in Minster Road between Pleasant Place and Scrapsgate.
Side road closures:

We'll be providing regular updates on the progress of our gas network upgrades. Please continue to check this page for the latest information.
We recognise roadworks can be frustrating, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this essential work may cause. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years, which means when the work is complete, nearby residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply long into the future.
