From Monday 6 January for nine weeks, we will be working to upgrade and reinforce the gas network along Pinchington Lane in Newbury. These works are essential to ensure we can continue to provide the increasing demand for gas in the area.
Our engineers will be working on Pinchington Lane between Capability Way to outside Woodpecker Cottage (west of Greenham Road). Due to the location of the gas main and for everyone’s safety, it will be necessary to temporarily close the road between these junctions.
This closure will mean no through vehicle access past the closure in either direction. A signed diversion route will be in place.
Important information
- Vehicle access for residents within the closure – resident access will be maintained. Our team will liaise directly with residents to keep them informed about access arrangements, which will change as the work progresses.
- Bus route will be affected – we advise passengers to contact their bus service provider for any changes to bus routes/timetables and bus stop locations.
- Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you are advised differently by your provider.
We appreciate this work may be disruptive for local residents and road users and we assure you we’ll be doing everything we can to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible.
