Project map with work area and diversion route
As part of a wider project to upgrade our gas network in Newport-on-Tay, we'll be be replacing our old metal gas mains and services in West Road. This work is essential to make sure homes and businesses in the area continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our contractor Powertek Utilities, who will be carrying out this project on our behalf, will begin work on Monday 2 March 2026.
We expect this section of our project to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
To ensure everyone's safety while we work, a road closure will be in place in West Road for the eight-week duration.
A signed diversion route, shown on the map above, will be in place for motorists via B946 > A92 > B995 / B995 > A92 > B946.
Temporary bus stops will be in use for the duration of the works, these will be located at the junction of St Fort Road/West Acres Drive operating in both directions.
A further temporary bus stop will be in place to aid school pupils in their journey to/from school, this will be located on Cupar Road, outside of Manna Coffee Shop.
Once our works move toward the Kinbrae Park area, another temporary bus stop will be in place in this location.
