We're upgrading our gas network in the Renton Drive area of Orpington. This essential work will ensure local properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
This work started on Monday 7 April and is being carried out in phases. The following roads will be impacted and traffic management plans have been agreed to help keep everyone safe while we replace our old pipes.
- Renton Drive and Waldenhurst Road - from Monday 7 April
Our engineers will be upgrading our gas network between 1 Renton Drive and 37 Waldenhurst Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation around this work area for approximately four weeks. - Rookesley Road - from Monday 14 April
We will be working between the Renton Road junction and 46 Rookesley Road. This work is expected to last approximately five weeks, and temporary traffic lights will be installed around this site. - Mansfield Close - from Monday 28 April
Mansfield Close will be shut at its junction with Rookesley Road while we upgrade our network here. The closure will be in place for around three-and-a-half weeks. - De Lapre Close - from Monday 5 May
De Lapre Close will be closed at its junction with Rookesley Road to safely carry out our work in this location. This closure will be in place for around three weeks.
Access will be maintained for residents within the closure areas.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe we're installing has a lifespan of over 80 years, which means Orpington residents and businesses can enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
