Paddock Street, Coatbridge

We’re working to upgrade our gas network in the Paddock Street area of Coatbridge, to ensure local homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.

This work involves replacing our old, metal pipes, with modern plastic pipe which has a lifespan of up to 80 years.

Our project will start on Monday 9 June and take approximately two months to complete.

To minimise disruption and complete our work as quickly as possible, we’re carrying out in phases as follows.

Phase one – Duration three weeks

From Monday 9 June we’ll be working in Laxford Place. In week one three-way  temporary lights will be in place at Laxford Place’s junction with Afton Gardens.

Then, in week two, we’ll need to close Laxford Place between Afton Gardens and Dunavon Place. In week three, our closure in Lafton Place will move southward between Dunavon Place and Paddock Street.

A local signed diversion route will be in place during the closures.

Phase two – Duration 12 days

From Thursday 26 June we’ll be working from Laxford Place’s junction with Paddock Street, past the roundabout, up to Paddock Street’s junction with Bellvue Way.

This phase will be carried out using multi-way temporary traffic lights.

Phase three – Duration two weeks

From Friday 11 July we’ll be working in Park Place, from Bellvue Way, up to the roundabout where Park Place meets Carnbroe Road.

This phase will be carried out using multi-way temporary traffic lights.

Phase four – Duration five days

From Monday 28 July we’ll be working at the roundabout where Park Place, Carnbroe Road and Kirkton Crescent meet.

This phase will be carried out using multi-way temporary traffic lights.

Phase five – Duration five days

From Monday 4 August we’ll be working at Laxford Place’s junction with Afton Gardens with three-way temporary traffic lights in place.

All the traffic lights used in this project will be manually controlled during peak hours.

The modern pipes we’re installing will ensure Coatbridge homes and businesses will enjoy the benefits of a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
