From Monday 29 June to Monday 5 October, our contractors AJM Utilities Limited will be carrying out an extensive programme of gas main replacement on various roads in Pennington.
These works are part of the mandatory HSE-driven programme of work to ensure we can continue to provide residents with a safe and efficient gas supply and avoid gas leaks in the future.
Due to the location of the gas pipes in the road, for everyone’s safety, we need to have various traffic management in place around our work areas.
Phase one: Ramley Road - from Monday 29 June for five weeks
Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place in Ramley Road at its junction with Pinetops Close junction, with temporary two-way traffic lights along Ramley Road.
Phase two: Ramley Road junction with Wainsford Road - from Monday 23 July for up to two weeks
We'll need to temporarily close Ramley Road.
Phase three: South Street - from Monday 27 July for six weeks
We'll need to temporarily close South Street in phases to maintain resident access where possible.
Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place at the North Street/South Street junction for approximately two weeks.
Phase four: Milford Road - from Monday 14 September for four weeks
We'll need to temporarily close the road at its junction with South Street for two weeks, with temporary two-way traffic lights in place along Milford Road for the full duration.
The road closures will mean:
- No through vehicle access past the closure in either direction – signed diversion routes will be in place.
- Vehicle access to properties located within the closures will be maintained – our site team will ensure residents are fully informed of access arrangements as these may change.
- Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.
- Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you are advised otherwise by your service provider.
- Local bus routes may be affected – we advise passengers to contact their service provider for the latest updates and changes to services.
