We've been carrying out essential gas network upgrade works between Pitcairngreen and Huntingtower, with the installation of approximately 4.2km of High Pressure gas pipeline to provide a more robust service to the Perth area as it continues to develop.
The improvement works were on course to be completed by November 2023 but due to severe weather conditions in the local area, the Gelly Burn River, which runs adjacent to our site, burst its banks and unfortunately washed out a large section of the embankment supporting our new pipeline, leaving it exposed.
The project has been postponed over the winter months to allow us to plan our reinstatement works and secure our pipeline. We're planning to begin our work on Monday 17 June to remediate the issues and complete the project by November 2024.
To enable us to carry out this restoration work and keep the disruption to all residents as low as possible, we aim to transport our infill materials through a section of Bertha Park. We have looked at all possible routes in the local area and have selected the most appropriate option to minimise disruption.
Please note that there may be occasions when work is required on weekends to ensure that the project stays on schedule. Rest assured, we will strive to keep any weekend work to a minimum and keep you updated.
Our proposal is to use the Springfield Developments working tracks to reach the entrance of Draper Road. From here, we will guide our vehicles to the farm track at the end of the road. We will require up to 16 lorries per day for approximately six weeks to fully reinstate our pipeline using this access route.
Please find the location plan below for clarity; this shows our proposed working area and travel routes to achieve this.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely apologise for any disruption this may cause to your daily routines. Please know that we are committed to completing this project as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise any inconvenience to you and your neighbours.
Thank you again for your cooperation and patience while we complete this essential work.
