On 15 September, SGN contractors, I&G Contractors Limited, will be recommencing work to upgrade the gas pipes in the Albion Road area of Sandhurst.
These essential works will involve replacing an old, metal pipe with a new longer longer-lasting plastic one so that we can continue to provide businesses and the wider community with a safe and efficient gas supply. Barring any engineering difficulties, the work will be ongoing until March 2026.
The work will be carried out in sections, and traffic management includes:
15 September for approximately ten weeks
- A closure on Albion Road, from the junction of Yorktown Road to outside property number 81A
- Two-way traffic lights on Yorktown Road
- A closure on The Broadway between the junction of Yorktown Road to outside property number 103A. Please note that we will not be replacing the gas pipe in The Broadway
27 October for approximately five weeks
- A closure on Swan Lane, between the junctions of Yorktown Road and Goughs Meadow
- Multi-way traffic lights on Yorktown Road at the junction of York Way and outside number 59
- A closure on York Way at the junction of Yorktown Road to outside number 2
24 November for approximately four weeks
- A closure on Swan Lane from the railway bridge to the junction of Vulcan Way, and the junction of Goughs Meadow to the railway bridge
- Engineers will then return to Swan Lane in January 2026 to complete the work.
