Shalford, A281 Horsham Road

We’re upgrading the gas network in Shalford. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses and is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, with new reliable plastic pipe.

Our contractor, I&G Contracting, who are completing this project on our behalf, will be starting work on this project in the week beginning Monday 31 March.

A248 Kings Road phase one

From Monday 31 March until Thursday 17 April

To reduce future disruption, we’ll be replacing our gas pipes alongside Surrey County Council engineers as they carry out their work on the Shalford Traffic Calming Scheme. For everyone’s safety, Kings Road will be closed at the junction with A281 Horsham Road.

A281 Horsham Road/The Street

From Monday 12 May for approximately ten weeks

We’ll be working along the A281 from the junction with Dagley Lane to outside St Marys Church. To keep everyone safe around our work, we’ll be using temporary traffic lights. We know this is a busy road, so we’ll be working extended hours and manually controlling the traffic lights between 7am and 7pm.

A248 Kings Road/Christmas Hill Phase 2

From Monday 21 July for approximately six weeks

We'll return to complete our remaining work to upgrade our gas pipes along Kings Road and Christmas Hill to the junction of B2128 Wonersh Common. For everyone’s safety, a rolling closure will be in place around our work area as we move along the road.

Signed diversions will be in place for affected motorists where roads are closed. Access will be kept for residents and businesses where it is safe to do so.

We understand roadworks can be frustrating and we’re sorry for any disruption caused by our work.
