Springboig, Gartcosh Road

From Saturday 11 October, we’ll be upgrading our gas network in Gartocher Road, Springboig.

These essential works have been planned in consultation with Glasgow City Council and involve replacing old, metal pipes with new longer-lasting plastic ones. This will ensure we can continue to provide homes and businesses in the community with a safe, reliable and efficient gas supply for decades to come.

Our work will begin on Saturday 11 October and last for approximately three weeks. It will be carried out in two phases to help minimise disruption.

PHASE ONE

From Saturday 11 October, Gartocher Road will be closed both ways between Hallhill Road and Gartocher Terrace for approximately two weeks. A signed diversion route will be in place via Hallhill Road and Shettleston Road. Access for residents will be maintained at all times.

PHASE TWO

From Sunday 19 October, Gartocher Road will be reopened. However, to ensure everyone’s safety, we will need to put in place temporary three-way traffic lights in Hallhill Road and Greenfield Road for approximately one week.

We recognise roadworks can be frustrating, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this essential work may cause. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years, which means when the work is complete, nearby residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply long into the future.
