Wallington, Montagu Gardens

We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Montagu Gardens area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Wallington homes and businesses.

Working to keep you safe and warm

What we're doing

We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in the Montagu Gardens area. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.

When we're working

Our work will start on Monday 5 January and be carried out in phases to help minimise disruption. We expect the project to be finished at the end of August.

Where we'll be working

To ensure everyone's safety while we upgrade our network, we need to close sections of the following roads:

  • Limes Road and Wandle Side (from Mon 5 Jan for approx. five weeks)
Access to these roads will be maintained via Lodge Avenue and each will temporarily operate as two-way.
  • Lodge Avenue (from Mon 12 Jan for approx. four weeks)
  • Montagu Gardens and Maldon Road (from Mon 16 Feb for approx. ten days)
  • Willoughby Avenue and Nicolas Road (from Mon 2 Mar for approx. three weeks)
  • Oakley Avenue (from Mon 2 Mar for approx. four weeks)
  • Collyer Avenue (from Mon 2 Mar for approx. six weeks)
  • Morton Gardens and Park Road (from Mon 23 Mar for approx. ten days)
  • Brandon Rise (from Mon 23 Mar for approx. two weeks)
  • Belmont Road (from Mon 6 Apr for approx. ten days)
  • Ross Road (from Mon 6 Apr for approx. three weeks)
  • Rectory Lane (from Mon 6 Apr for approx. seven weeks)
  • Northway (from Mon 13 Apr for approx. six weeks)
  • Southway (from Mon 27 Apr for approx. four weeks)
  • Clifton Road and Osmond Gardens (from Mon 30 Apr for approx. three weeks)
  • Montagu Gardens (from Mon 4 May for approx. three weeks)
  • Bute Road (from Mon 27 Jul for approx. five weeks)

Access for residents and businesses inside the closure areas will be maintained. Signed diversions will be in place for all other affected road users.

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, this work is essential to ensuring nearby properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
