Wandsworth, Buckhold Road

We're returning to the Buckhold Road area to carry out essential upgrades to our gas network.

After undertaking our first phase in 2025, our engineers will be resuming our work shortly. The second phase of our project will start on Monday 20 July and last six weeks.

This work has been planned in close consultation with Wandsworth Borough Council and will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to nearby homes and businesses. We've arranged for this to be carried out during the school summer holiday period when roads are typically quieter.

Working to keep you safe and warm

What we're doing

Our engineering team is replacing old metallic mains with modern plastic pipe which has a lifespan of 80 years.

When we'll be working

The second phase of our project will start on Monday 20 July and last for approximately six weeks.

Where we'll be working

Our engineers will be upgrading our gas network along Buckhold Road between its junctions with Hardwick Square and Neville Gill Close.

To safely complete this work, we need to:

  • Close Buckhold Road to motorists between these junctions
  • Install temporary traffic lights between its junctions with Broomhill Road and Neville Gill Close

Signed diversions will be in place for affected road users. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses located within our closure area. All businesses will remain open as usual during our project.

Buses will also be diverted around our closure. There will be no bus stops in Kimber Road while we upgrade our network. We recommend you check with your bus service provider for updates to stops, routes and timetables.

We recognise roadworks can be frustrating. However, this essential work will ensure nearby properties stay safe and warm for many years to come. We'd like to thank the Wandsworth community in advance for your patience.
