From Monday 29 June to Friday 14 August, our specialist contractors AJM Utilities Limited will be carrying out essential gas main replacement along Canford Magna and a section of Oakley Lane in Wimborne.
These works are essential to ensure we can continue to provide residents and the local community with a safe and efficient gas supply and avoid gas leaks in the future.
We will be replacing the old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes on Canford Magna from its junction with Queen Anne Drive and continuing along Oakley Lane to its junction with Floral Farm Road. The map below shows the location of the work.
For everyone’s safety, we will need to temporarily close the road under a rolling road closure due to the location of the gas pipe in the road.
What this temporary closure means:
- No vehicles will be able to travel past the closure in either direction – a signed diversion route will be in place
- Vehicle access to properties/the school and businesses within the closure will be maintained - local access arrangements will be in place and engineers on site will keep those affected informed
- Vehicle access arrangements will change as works progress along the road – signage will be in place to keep road users informed
- Bin collection for properties located within the closure will remain unchanged unless you hear otherwise
Bus routes will be affected - we advise passengers to contact their service provider for the latest updates and changes to your service.
