Renewable gas connections
Green gases, such as biomethane, are key to decarbonising the UK. We're expanding the number of renewable energy sources connected to our networks to deliver our ambition of heating one million homes with green gas by 2031.
We already supply enough green gas for the equivalent of 360,000 homes in the UK.
We have ambitions to connect enough green gas production facilities to supply the equivalent of 450,000 homes by the end of the RIIO-GD2 and one million homes by the end of RIIO-GD3.
