She joins from HSBC, where she most recently served as General Counsel for the UK Wealth & Personal Banking division. Prior to this, she was HSBC’s Global Head of Competition Law.

Her career spans several sectors, including senior roles within BT plc’s legal team and earlier experience as an associate at Freshfields. A recognised general counsel and specialist in competition and regulatory matters, Emily has advised on significant investigations and litigation.

“I’m delighted to welcome her to SGN and look forward to the contribution she will make. I’d also like to thank Nick Porter for his steady leadership as Interim General Counsel.”

Emily will take up her new role in the summer.
