From Monday 7 October 2024, we'll be replacing our gas main along Dormans Road, West Street and Hollow Lane in Dormansland. We expect this project to last for approximately ten Weeks.
This essential work will involve replacing old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes to ensure we can continue to provide residents and the wider community with a safe and efficient gas supply.
Due to the location of the gas pipes in the road and for everyone’s safety, we’ll need to temporarily close the following roads around our work site.
Phase one
West Street – diversion route will be via The Platt, High Street and Dormans Road
Phase two
Hollow Lane – diversion route will be via Mutton Hill and High Street
Phase three
Dormans Road – diversion route will be via Racecourse Road and Plough Road
Useful information
- Information signs will be placed on the affected roads to confirm closure dates two weeks before our work starts.
- Access for residents located within the closure will change as work progresses – signage will keep road users and residents informed.
- Bus routes may be affected – passengers are advised to contact their service providers for updates to timetables and routes.
- Gas service connections – once the new gas main has been installed, properties with a gas supply will need to be connected to the new gas main. Affected properties will receive further information about this process.
