The easiest way to find out if you have a gas supply is for us to send out an engineer, who can find out whether your pipe is ready to use or needs further work before we can connect you. This service is free of charge.
As lockdown restrictions start to ease, we’re able to offer this service again:
- Restarting in the south of England from 6 April 2021
- Restarting in Scotland from 26 April 2021
In line with UK Government advice, we’ll be carrying out extensive risk assessments before going ahead with the check. We’ll only be able to carry out your live or dead gas supply check where it’s safe for both you and our engineer. For more information about the extra safety precautions we have in place during the pandemic, visit our coronavirus response page.
If an engineer has already come out to see you and your pipe needs further work, you can apply for a new connection.
If an engineer has already come out to see you and your pipe is ready to use, you can contact a supplier of your choice to put a meter in so you can start using gas, or apply for a disconnection.
